Our Team

Julie Bowling – DVM
Julie, often known as “Momma Jue” by the staff, is a 2001 graduate of UTCVM Knoxville, TN. She started working in regular practice focused on small animal surgery and medicine. In 2010 she began splitting her time between regular practice and spay/neuter clinics. You can find Julie here on Fridays primarily as our surgeon. Her favorite part of her job is being able to provide safe spay and neuter services to help manage pet populations and reduce the high number of animals that end up on the street. When not at work, Julie is spending time with her 3 kids or taking care of her 10 cats and 4 dogs. Julie truly pours her whole heart into caring for animals and we’re forever grateful to have her with us!

Dr. Hand – DVM
Dr. Hand is a very kind and compassionate soul. She graduated with her DVM from UTCVM Knoxville, Tn. Dr. Hand doesn’t like her picture to be taken so here is her sweet dog Bruno to fill in for her! -isn’t he the most handsome boy? Her favorite part of her job is that no day is the same, so you never know what you’re going to get. When she’s not dedicating her time caring for patients, she enjoys staying active as a recreational bodybuilder, going on hikes with Bruno, or whipping up sweet treats in the kitchen. Dr. Hand tends to spoil all of us here in the office and routinely brings up new baked treats to try every single week! We’re so grateful/thankful to have her here with us.

She loves to take naps, go for car rides, and she especially loves farmers markets & fall festivals as her momma will bring her along in a stroller so she can say hi to everyone that walks by. You will often see Sophie cuddled up behind the desk but if you see her start twitching – don’t worry, she’s fine! That’s just her own goofy way of getting excited and wanting attention.
